A not-for-profit community hospital, Somerset Hospital has provided healthcare services to the community for over eighty years. In today's society, community hospitals are an integral piece of the community, providing social services and emotional support, wellness and prevention outreach, traditional acute care and outpatient testing and access to primary care.
Somerset Hospital is continually realizing its mission, to "improve health and life" for the residents of Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
Somerset Hospital plays a vital role in the physical and social well-being of its residents, greatly enhancing the quality of life in the community. Accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the American Association of Blood Banks, the American College of Radiology, and the American Society of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the hospital serves over 160,000 outpatients and 5,200 inpatients each year. It offers an average of 24 health fairs and educational programs annually to residents in the community, addressing topics such as parenting, tobacco cessation, preventative measures for health and wellness, and nutrition. Its outreach centers offer drug and alcohol treatment to residents of the community.

Somerset Hospital offers free, eight-session smoking cessation classes to adult residents of Somerset County. The classes are taught over seven weeks, run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and are held in Somerset Hospital's Conference Room 419. Our Services
Somerset Hospital's Community Connection will bring cessation outreach programs to your school or workplace. We offer educational programs for prevention, cessation and exposure of tobacco. In addition, our staff can conduct health assessments including blood pressure and CO/pulse oximetry readings, evaluation of body mass index, diabetes screenings and more!
Looking for an educational program for your youth group, school or community center? Our Samantha the Skunk and Mr. Ciggy Butts can educate your audience on the toxic hazards of tobacco use in a fun and creative way.
